Former KCCA FC goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi has joined Spanish side Villajoyosa Sports Club in a permanent move.

The custodian has signed a one-year deal with the fifth-division side.

Having joined the team for trials in March 2023, Mwirusi has impressed to earn himself the trust of the coach.

He now joins another Ugandan, George Isiagi, who joined the side coached by Jose Soler Moya.

Mwirusi was among the several players released by KCCA FC in July to end his spell at Lugogo.

Having come out of the KCCA FC Academy, Mwirusi struggled to impress in the senior team until he was released.

The 23-year-old will now be looking to restart his career miles away from home and fulfil the potential he showed while coming through the ranks at Lugogo.

At Lugogo, Mwirusi's departure was greeted by the return of another young goalkeeper Anthony Emojong, who has impressed under new custodian Sergio Traguil.
