Former KCCA FC promising star Andrew 'Sergent' Kawooya is on the verge of joining seven-time Uganda Premier League side Express FC.
According to Sports Nation, Kawooya has agreed to put pen on paper on a one year employment contract with the Red Eagles.
Kawooya, who is also a St Mary's Secondary School Kitende (SMASK) graduate, has struggled to live up to the expectations, having emerged as one of the most promising youngsters a few years back.
However, a move to Express is a huge platform to re-assert his name as one of the better midfielders in the country.
He spent the previous season with side MYDA FC, having been released by KCCA FC over a year back.
Kawooya had been on loan at UPDF FC as he sought for more playing time, at the time KCCA pressed the exit button.
He has come through the country's under-age ranks with huge promise, including the Uganda Kobs (U-17) and the U-20.
The budding star was a key part of the Uganda U-20 team that finished runners up in the Mauritania 2020 AFCON, as they lost 2-0 to Ghana in the final.
