Davido and Amaju Pinnick
As reported by Pulse Sports, the former NFF chief called out Davido on social media last month for failing to honour a paid event.
A video made the rounds early last month of the football administrator calling out the award-winning Afrobeat superstar for allegedly refusing to show up to perform in his ‘Warri Again’ show in Delta State.
The 52-year-old noted that Davido was paid more than $94, 600, over N105 million at the time of the report and also booked a private jet for the ‘Unavailable’ star.
Pinnick sues Davido
According to reliable Nigerian photojournalist, OgaNla Media, the former NFF boss has now moved to sue Davido.
"Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick sues Davido, demands N2.3b over alleged breach of contract," he posted on X.com.
The lawsuit, filed by Pinnick’s legal team, alleges that Davido failed to fulfil contractual obligations, resulting in significant losses for the NFF man.
While the specific details of the contract remain undisclosed, Pinnick has filed for N2.3 billion in a bid to reclaim whatever he lost.
The Delta State-born administrator remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s sports scene after his lengthy tenure as the President of the NFF.
His time as the boss remains a subject of intense debate among Nigerian football fans, with his foray into a contractual agreement with Davido showcasing the increasingly common collaboration between sports and music.
The lawsuit represents a substantial claim, highlighting the seriousness of the allegations and potential financial impact.
With both parties involved being key figures in their respective fields, this legal dispute will undoubtedly garner significant attention.
