The defender will now seek to reignite his career after becoming a bit-part player for the brewers

Tanzania Premier League side Geita Gold FC have secured the signing of defender Kalos Kirenge following his release from Football Kenya Federation Premier League giants Tusker FC.

The towering center-back's move was confirmed by Geita Gold, as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

Kirenge's journey has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, having initially joined Tusker FC from Namungo in 2021.

During the early stages of the 2021/2022 campaign, Kirenge proved to be a vital player for Robert Matano's side.

However, in the 2022/23 season, he found himself falling out of favour and relegated to a minor role.

“We have completed the signing of central defender Kalos Protas Kirenge from the Kenyan club Tusker,” the club officially announced on Friday night, expressing their satisfaction with the acquisition.

It was no secret that Kirenge had contemplated leaving Tusker earlier, seeking more regular playing time ahead of the previous season.

However, he was convinced to stay and fight for his spot on the team. Now, with the move to Geita Gold FC, he aims to reignite his career and make a significant impact in the Tanzanian Premier League.

Tusker, on the other hand, are currently in the process of reshaping their squad, making room for new arrivals.

The disappointment of the previous season, where they narrowly missed out on the league title by just one point and fell short in the FKF Cup final against Kakamega Homeboyz, has prompted them to seek fresh talent and reinforce their ranks.
