In a surprise move, former Yanga SC striker Bernard Morrison has returned to the football scene, reuniting with his former coach.

Former Yanga SC striker Bernard Morrison has made a triumphant return to the football scene by signing with Moroccan side Association Sportive des Forces Armées Royales (ASFAR) Rabat.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian striker, who had previously been dropped by Yanga at the end of the season, has found a new home with ASFAR Rabat, where he will once again work under the guidance of his former coach, Nasreddine Nabbi.

Initially, there were speculations linking Morrison with a move to another Tanzanian Premier League side, Singida Fountain Gate.

However, it was revealed in mid-August that Singida Fountain Gate had opted not to pursue his signing.

This turn of events left Morrison's future in limbo, but he has now put those uncertainties to rest with his signing for ASFAR Rabat.

Morrison's excitement and anticipation for his new journey were palpable as he shared the news of his signing on social media during a photo shoot, proudly donning the ASFAR Rabat jersey adorned with the number 5.

The Ghanaian striker rejoined Yanga in July 2022, following the expiration of his two-year contract with rivals Simba.

During his time at Simba, Morrison made a lasting impression with over 50 appearances in all competitions, including the prestigious African Champions League.

Prior to his time in Tanzania, Morrison had ventured into the South African Premier Soccer League, where he plied his trade with the giants of Orlando Pirates.

Before making waves in South Africa, Morrison had made a name for himself in the Ghanaian Premier League, representing Ashanti Gold.

However, his aspirations and talents soon led him beyond the borders of Ghana, as he made a pivotal move to DR Congo side AS Vita Club in the summer of 2015.

One of the highlights of Morrison's recent career was his commendable performance during his second stint at Yanga SC, where he played an instrumental role in the club's success.

Notably, he contributed significantly to the Jagwani giant’s achievement of silver in the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup final.
