SC Villa is enjoying a brilliant season and could move up to fourth spot on the 15-team Uganda Premier League table by the end of Friday.
The record champions will host Onduparaka FC at Akii Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira and a win will lift them from fifth to fourth place.
"It's been a good season for us already, but we want to soar high and every game counts," Villa head coach Jackson Magera told Pulse Sports ahead of Friday's encounter.
"We should capitalize on every opportunity we get, and if tomorrow's game is taking us to another position, we have to embrace it."
He added: "It's a season where some top clubs are still performing well while others are struggling a bit, and if we can keep the winning mentality, we shall attain a very good position at the end of it all."
Villa is currently on 25 points, one point behind Wakiso Giants FC, who are on 26 points but have played a game more.
The Joogos welcome a side that they have not defeated in the last two league outings. The reverse fixture ended goalless in Bombo, while Onduparaka won the second leg of last season in Arua.
"Onduparaka is a stubborn team, especially when playing against Villa. They usually play their hearts out," Magera noted.
"But I believe we shall overcome them because they visit us at a time when we have just been eliminated from the Uganda Cup and drew in the league."
"We want to return to winning ways because the season is still long, and we need to get a good run of results."
Magera's charges were controversially dumped out of the Uganda Cup by holders BUL FC, while they drew with Gaddafi FC at the start of the second round.
On the other hand, the Caterpillars are struggling at the bottom of the standings with seven points. Unlike Villa, the Arua-based outfit comes into Friday's game having progressed to the Round of 16 of the Uganda Cup but lost to URA FC in the league.
