Arsenal icon Paul Merson has compared Liverpool's talisman to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard after his goalscoring heroics.
Paul Merson has lavished praise on Liverpool winger Mohammed Salah, following his outstanding performance in the Reds' 2-0 Premier League opener victory against Ipswich Town.
Salah set up the opener for Diogo Jota before getting on the scoresheet to seal the win.

Paul Merson heaps praise on Liverpool's Salah
"You can't talk highly enough of Salah—how many goals is that now and he plays right wing? He's a right winger, it is just mind-blowing," Merson exclaimed on Sky Sports.
Merson's admiration for Salah knows no bounds, as he drew comparisons to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, a prolific goal-scorer in his prime.
"He does it every season and he's the Frank Lampard of Liverpool, but playing right wing," Merson said, highlighting Salah's incredible consistency and goal-scoring ability from a wide position.
Salah is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and there are suggestions that this could be his final season in Europe.
A move to the Saudi League has been mooted for some time but the Egyptian remains one of the world's best players, making it possible that he extends his stay in the top flight.
The 32-year-old scored 25 goals in 40 appearances last season and has started the new season with a bang.
Liverpool are in action next against Brentford at Anfield.
