A Fred Amaku brace and one from Abraham Tusubira Kakensa were enough to sink Busoga into deeper agony, in their fight to avoid relegation.

A relentless first-half from Maroons FC had them down Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League encounter played at the Luzira Prison Grounds, on Thursday.

The defeat left Busoga United 14th on the 16-team log with 18 points garnered in 23 matches.

On the other hand, Maroons temporarily ascended to sixth with 38 points in 24 games.

On the evening, Maroons broke the deadlock in the 28th as Amaku finished off a superb pass from Ronald Orombi.

The talisman then completed his brace three minutes later with another well-taken goal.

In a nick of time, Tusubira completed the evening's rout for Maroons with a brilliant strike.

Busoga United were reduced to nine men after both Hussein Ssajjabi and Sunday Mulanda got sent off in the 49th and 51st minute, respectively.

From then, there was no way back for Busoga in the affair. They will host Wakiso Giants in their next match slated for April 26.

Meanwhile, Maroons will visit Vipers SC in their subsequent game, on April 23 at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
