16 media organizations will battle for laurels at the Ogun SWAN Media Cup.
All is set for the kick-off of the second edition of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ogun State Chapter Media Cup as 16 media organizations battle for laurels.
The Ogun SWAN Media Cup, sponsored by Segun Showunmi, is scheduled to be held between June 1 and 8 in Abeokuta.
In a draw held on Monday at the SWAN secretariat in Abeokuta, the defending champions, Consolidation Chapel, will host Information Chapel while Super FM and Ijebu-Ode clash with NTA.

Oodua FM will battle Rock City FM, it is a battle of State-owned broadcasting organizations as OGTV host OGBC
Also, Splash FM will do battle with Correspondents Chapel, Family FM will pair with Paramount FM, debutants Eagles 7 Sports Radio and Federated Chapel, and last year’s runners-up, Smash FM, will take on FIBAN.

Ogun SWAN Media Cup is a 5-Aside Football competition
The SWAN Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, confirmed that it is a 5-a-side football match between the state's working journalists.
According to Ogunsiji, the 16 media outlets in Ogun State and the chapels that fall under the purview of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, will play all of their games at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta.

He stated that the goal of the tournament is to promote cooperation and friendship among the state's journalists.

Muda Lawal Stadium is the state's first stadium, and it was renamed after one of the late sons of the state, Mudashiru Lawal, a member of the victorious Green Eagles that won the Nations Cup in 1980.
The association consequently pleaded with all media outlets and NUJ chapels to play by the regulations.
