Disappointed by the referee, Kochi Urban players and the technical bench marched out of the pitch.

Drama ensued at Anaka Primary School grounds, Nwoya, in the FUFA Big League play-offs second leg on June 18, as Kochi Urban abandoned the match in the 65th minute after conceding the second goal.

In the reverse fixture, Kochi Urban hosted the FUFA regional league winners-Northern at the Boma Grounds, Yumbe district and won 1-0.

However, in the second leg, Kochi Urban struggled to contain the pressure from the host. Young Elephants found the back of the net in the first half to level matters on aggregate 1-1.

In the second half, the Nwoya-based team doubled their lead with a second goal, and the game ended abruptly.

Tension ensued in the possible 'goal-no-goal' situation. Due to a lack of technology like the Video Assistant Referee, there was no provision for possible review, and the referee stood by his decision.

Disappointed by the referee, Kochi Urban players and the technical bench marched out of the pitch.

Efforts to persuade the team to return to the pitch were brushed aside as they accused the officials of bias.

The referee consequently ended the match with the decision of the tie left to the FUFA Competitions and Disciplinary Committees.

The FUFA Big League is slated to kick off on September 14.
