FUFA has confirmed that two Uganda Premier League matches will be used in testing of the newly redeveloped Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The historical facility has undergone a massive revamp for over three years, and awaiting approval from CAF before hosting "Class A” international games.
The two testing games will have KCCA FC hosting SC Villa, while BUL FC will battle Vipers SC, with both games to be played on May 1.
”FUFA and the Uganda Premier League Secretariat sat together and agreed to have two League games serve as test matches for the refurbished stadium. We zeroed down on two key fixtures who have a bearing on the title race,” FUFA EXCOM Rogera Byamukama said.

Mandela National Stadium was closed in 2019 before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the stadium has been undergoing renovation and CAF recently made a report confirming the facility fell short of the needed standards.
FUFA intends to have the Uganda Cranes host the next 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Botswana and Algeria at Namboole, come June 3 and 8, respectively.
