FOOTBALL FUFA Super 8: Showtime as Vipers get off title defence against BUL

For their first official match of the season, Vipers SC will take on BUL Football Club in the opening match of the FUFA Super 8 tournament.

It will also be an opportunity for both sides to showcase their newly acquired artillery on Thursday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru

Both sides also have new faces at the helm, with Vipers under Brazilian Leonard Martins Neiva while BUL will have Abbey Bogere Kikomeko on the touchline.

The game presents First against Seventh with the Venoms coming as the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League champions.

Vipers are the defending champions, as they won the previous edition in 2019 after beating KCCA FC 2-0, courtesy of Fahad Bayo.

Vipers and BUL have met 26 times in the league and looking at the journey statistically, the former have the lion's share of victories.

The Venoms have 16 league wins, with seven encounters ending in draws while BUL have two victories.

The most recent bout between the two ended in a 1-1 stalemate in the second last match of the UPL season, as Karim Watambala and Samuel Ssekamatte netted for Vipers and BUL, respectively.
