Vipers and KCCA are set to host their first Startimes Uganda Premier League games under floodlights.

FUFA will use two weekend fixtures to assess and set guidelines for matches to be played under the floodlights.

Both KCCA and Vipers had promised to introduce night games and have installed the lights to that effect.

"Two StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches have been cleared to be played under floodlights starting this weekend," a statement from FUFA read.

The first match will see Vipers host Blacks Power on Saturday at the St. Marys Stadium in Kitende from 7 pm and then KCCA versus UPDF on Sunday at the MTN Omondi Stadium from 6 pm.

Vipers hosted Raja Casablanca in a CAF Champions League group game at Kitende in their first official competitive fixture under the lights.

Guidelines

FUFA stated that their Club Licensing Committee will make a report that will help formulate a guideline for night games.

"Any match thereafter under floodlights on any stadium in the territory of Uganda shall be held in accordance with the regulations to be published in due course," FUFA stated further.

KCCA and holders Vipers with 37 and 29 points respecyively are chasing for points to close the gap with SC Villa who lead with 40.
