Portuguese manager Marco Silva is set to stay with Fulham after turning down a potential transfer to Saudi Arabia worth billions of Naira over two years
Fulham’s Marco Silva has reportedly turned down an approach from Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli worth up to €40 million for two seasons in order to stay with the Cottagers.
Fulham boss set to stay despite huge Al Ahli offer
Fulham who are on the verge of sealing a deal for Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey in the coming days were moments away from losing Silva after the Portuguese manager received a ludicrous offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
However, Silva has made a decision to stay with the club, despite Fulham being resigned to losing star forward Alexandar Mitrovic who is set to seal a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia himself with Al HIlal.
Silva decided to put his faith in Fulham after the club had done the same with him in previous seasons.
Silva making a mark at Fulham
The Portuguese gaffer has been with the Cottagers since the summer of 2021 after joining Fulham fresh from relegation to the EFL Championship from the Premier League.
Silva has helped the team back to the top flight after winning the EFL Championship in his first season with the club and continued his impressive Fulham spell with a respectable first Premier League season with the Cottagers.
Fulham finished in a respectable 10th position in the 2022/23 season with Silva in charge and also reached the quarterfinals of the FA Cup where they lost to Manchester United with their manager getting sent off and charged with improper conduct by the FA.
