In preparation for the 2022/23 Futsal Super League (FSL) season, the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has set high standards through the release of Club Licensing Requirements for the participating teams.

This move by FAU aims at increasing the level of competition in the upcoming season, promoting professionalism, and improving the league's quality.

The Club Licensing requirements are divided into six criteria, which include financial, administrative, infrastructure, legal, personnel, and sporting categories.

The criteria have been attached to a score percentage with a minimum score of 80% needed for a team to be eligible for inspection and granted a license to participate in the upcoming season.

According to sources, the deadline for submission of all FSL Licensing requirement documents has been set for Friday, May 5th, 2023, giving teams ample time to meet the requirements.

The process will ensure only qualified teams participate in one of Uganda's most prestigious sporting events.

FAU is optimistic that the Club Licensing Requirements will allow clubs to register smoothly, promote transparency and accountability in the league, and increase the standard of the game by upholding professionalism.

After the licensing process, the FAU will release the 2022/23 fixtures on May 8th, before the season kickoff starts on May 21st.

The Futsal community anticipates a thrilling season full of non-stop action, impressive skills, and fierce competition.

As Uganda continues to promote the growth of Futsal, FAU continues to raise the bar, enabling the league to become one of the best in Africa by incorporating international best practice standards.

The Club Licensing Requirements is a significant step and an indication of FAU's commitment to developing Futsal in Uganda.
