Vihiga are now four points ahead of second-place Gaspo Women with one round of matches left.
However, Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee’s coached side has decided to boycott the clash without disclosing the reasons behind the management's decision.
“We as GASPO WOMEN football Club, have decided not to participate in the FKFWPL final match against Vihiga Queens FC scheduled on Saturday, May 27 2023,” the club said.
“This decision has come to be considered due to a number of reasons. We therefore will give out a walkover to the above-mentioned opponents.”

There is a huge possibility of the gong being shared by two or more players.
There are reports that Gaspo’s chairman Edward Githua raised concerns with the league organizer about the levels of officiating during their clash against Ulinzi Starlets on Thursday, May 18.
Last Thursday, Githua was quoted by a local publication as claiming that the match referee awarded a ‘dubious ‘penalty to the army side in the dying minute of the encounter.
"The referee was not fair at all. That was not supposed to be a penalty for Ulinzi. The linesman’s flag was already up, indicating that the Ulinzi striker was in an offside position and gave it a blind eye," Githua was quoted by Citizen Digital.

WPL Ulinzi Starlets dent Gaspo Women's title hopes
The former Thika Queens creative midfielder Lydiah Waganda scored the opener in the first half of the match against Ulinzi Starlets at GEMS Cambridge School
The match ended in a 1-1 draw which dented Gaspo's title-winning chances, and the league title finally slipped out of their hands on Sunday when they were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Wadadia.
The second successive draw allowed Vihiga Queens to be declared winners with one match to spare after a 2-1 win over Nakuru City Queens on the same day.
