Having gone trophy-less for two straight seasons, the Tanzanian football giants have their work cut out and has already started shaping up their squad.
It's yet again that time of the season at Simba SC when players get to pack their bags as new faces replace them.
Having gone trophy-less for two straight seasons, the Tanzanian football giants have their work cut out and has already started shaping up their squad.
The club on Monday confirmed the departure of Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Okrah by mutual consent.
"After being part of our squad for one season, Okrah won't be part of us the next season; more information on the Simba app," read a tweet shared on the club's official handle.
The 27-year-old has been unlucky with injuries which stopped him from nailing a starting berth with the Tanzanian giants.
However, he will be remembered for his first goal in his first appearance in the Kariakoo Derby in October 2022, although the game ended 1-1.
Okrah joined the Reds in July 2022 from Bechem United on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee; he rose to prominence in the 2013/14 season when he scored 16 goals in the Ghana Premier League.
He has since gone on to feature for clubs like Sudanese giants Al Merreikh and Al Hilal Omdurman, as well as Swedish club BK Hacken.
Okrah is the first of many to be released by Simba, who recently named Dutch national Mels Daalar the club's chief scout.
Steven Mukwala's Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are reportedly ready to sign up Augustine Okrah for a return to the Ghana Premier League.
