The game, set for 22nd July as Young Africans end a week of festivities during their annual fans fete dubbed 'Week ya Wanainchi', will also see the former SC Villa captain presented to the club fans along with other new signings.

For the first time in his career, new Young Africans signing Gift Fred will play in front of a sold-out crowd when his side faces South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in a friendly.

The game, set for 22nd July as Young Africans end a week of festivities during their annual fans fete dubbed 'Week ya Wanainchi', will also see the former SC Villa captain presented to the club fans along with other new signings.

Both Tanzanian giants, Simba and Young Africans, hold themed fans' day events before the start of the football season,

For Young Africans, 'Week ya Mwanainchi' sees them hold various activities, usually corporate social responsibility, in specific areas around the country in the days leading to the climax, where they play against a high-profile club at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium.

The 2023 activities will be held in Mwanza, as confirmed by the club.

Ugandans and Young Africans fans will have a glimpse of new signing Gift Fred, who is primed to make his debut for the side, while Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho will be making his third appearance at the club fete.

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers were the guests on the 2022 Week ya Mwanainchi' celebrations winning the game 2-0 with goals from Milton Karisa and Bright Anukani.

The Wanainchi are also looking forward to Gift Fred and Jonas Mkude; the Taifa Stars combative midfielder signed for Young Africans after spending 13 seasons with Simba SC.

His unveiling and the excitement about his arrival are expected to spice up the event on 22nd July.

It will be the first time in two years that Young Africans head into the season with a new head coach after Argentine Angel Miguel Gamondi replaced Nabi Nasreddine.

Young Africans are hoping to reach the CAF Champions League's group stages and win all the silverware available on the domestic front.
