Six schools will battle for honours in the first-of-its-kind tournament slated for next month in Lagos.

Your number one sports platform Pulse Sports Nigeria can report that organisers of the Girls’ inter-secondary school football tournament have changed the age range and announced the groups for the 2023 season.

Lagos-based academies, Lagos Tiger and Kidsports confirmed that the competition was upgraded to a U-15 from U-13 on 'advice', according to a representative of the academy.

The tournament slated for March 7th and 8th 2023 has been upgraded to an under 15.

Also, the draw for the 2023 fiesta was made public on Tuesday morning with six popular secondary schools set to go head-to-head in the next month.

It will be recalled that Pulse Sports reported that the competition was out together as an exciting opportunity for female athletes to display their skills and compete against their mates.

The teams

Six girls' secondary schools will kick start the competition, with the teams divided into two groups of three each.

According to the organisers, the grouping has been done to ensure balanced competition and provide each school with a fair chance following careful consideration and evaluation.

In Group A, Meadowhall School lead the way followed by the Corona Secondary School Lekki and Fountain Heights.

For Group B, Princeton Secondary School will battle it out with Corona Secondary School Agbara and Riverbank Schools.

The tournament is open to every secondary school girl and school in Lagos State.

A total of over 120 girls are expected to take part in the two-day competition that is expected to be intense and fun.

Registration is free and players will get cash prizes and various merit awards at the end of the tournament for deserved winners.
