On Tuesday, May 16th, the Inaugural U14 Futsal League kicked off at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena, showcasing young talents in an exhilarating display of skill and passion.

The opening day witnessed an extraordinary talent showcase, with a staggering total of 54 goals scored, setting the stage for a world-class tournament.

 In the Girls' League, Azteks emerged as the dominant force, securing victories in both of their opening games and ascending to the top of the standings. 

Led by their head coach, Yosia Kide, Azteks displayed impressive adaptability and determination.

 Their first match saw Azteks overpower Habanomu with a commanding 4-1 victory, showcasing their attacking prowess and cohesive gameplay. 

The girls' versatility and defensive prowess were on full display in their second game of the day, as they continued their winning streak by defeating Kick It Soccer Academy with a clinical 2-0 win.

 Coach Kide expressed his satisfaction with the performance and character of the girls, stating: "I'm happy with the performance and character of the girls. It was a new experience, and they had the opportunity to showcase their talent and emerge with victories."

 Kide also acknowledged the need for further education regarding the game's rules in order for the next match day. 

"The girls were caught out by some of the rules applied in the game. There is a need to educate them more, which will eventually help them as they continue to grow with the sport,” Kide added.

 A flurry of goals captivated the audience in the Boys' League, with 38 strikes registered across seven captivating encounters. 

Junub Academy, led by the sensational young talent Arnold Kakande, showcased their prowess by triumphing in both of their opening games, propelling themselves to the top of the standings after match day one.

 Junub Academy's campaign began with a resounding victory over Soccer For Life, outclassing their opponents with a commanding 5-1 scoreline. 

Arnold Kakande, who netted an incredible six of Junub Academy's eight goals throughout the day, proved to be an unstoppable force. 

Buoyed by their initial success, Junub Academy continued their winning streak by defeating KJT in a hard-fought match, emerging victorious with a 3-1 scoreline. 

In Group B, Edgar Futsal Club displayed resilience, holding on to a narrow 3-2 victory over Henry's Soccer Academy while also engaging in a thrilling 3-all stalemate with Michezo later in the day.

 As the opening day concluded, the anticipation for match day two on Tuesday, May 23rd, grew exponentially. 

The tournament organizers expressed their confidence that the upcoming games would continue to captivate audiences and showcase these young futsal players' immense talent and dedication.
