Nigeria's Golden Eaglets have passed CAF MRI tests without problems and are now set to begin their title defence in Ghana.

Nigeria's full 20-man Golden Eaglets squad has been declared eligible to compete at the WAFU B U17 Championship which kicks off in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, confirmed on Tuesday that all of the players presented by Nigeria have passed medical examinations with flying colours per a post from OgaNla Media.

This is a ringing endorsement of the thorough tests conducted by the coaches led by World Cup winner Garba Manu before the team's departure and ensures the defending champions have a full complement available.

The Eaglets begin their title defence against Burkina Faso on Thursday at the University Stadium, with kick-off at 4 pm Nigerian time.

They will then face Niger Republic on Sunday (7 pm Nigeria) and Togo next Wednesday (5 pm Nigeria) as they bid to progress from the group phase.

Having the entire 20-man squad cleared is a major boost for Nigeria as they target retaining the WAFU U17 crown they won in Ghana last year.

The credibility of the screening process has been validated, paving the way for the Eaglets to take on the region's best at full strength.

With their full arsenal at their disposal, Nigeria will be highly fancied to go all the way and successfully defend their WAFU title in Accra over the coming days.
