Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno has revealed how his teammates are helping Benson Omala go for the golden boot come the end of the season.
Omala missed out on the title of top scorer last season after Elvis “Machapo” Rupia, then of Kenya Police, scored a record-breaking 26 goals to break the long-standing 40-year record held By Maurice Aloo “Sonyi”.
He did however equal that 26-goal record set by the record goalscorer, but this season, he is determined to go one better and go for glory.
Speaking before Gor Mahia played Talanta on Sunday, Otieno revealed that his teammates are “doing everything they can” to help him become the top scorer at the end of the season.
