Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has addressed the auction of their former bus amid financial struggles, emphasizing asset protection.

Gor Mahia FC chairman Ambrose Rachier has finally broken his silence on the club's former bus that was sold in an auction earlier this year.

The auction, initiated by defender Wellington Ochieng in a bid to recover his salary arrears, left the Premier League club in financial turmoil.

Rachier, while addressing the issue, also hinted at a newfound determination to protect the club's assets from such incidents in the future.

"The other bus was sold by public auction courtesy of one of our players who had sued us at the Sports Tribunal after a hot judgment. We don't know how much it was sold for; we have never heard about it, but it was sold by public action," he said.

Gor Mahia's financial woes have been no secret, with several pending debts owed to players and service providers.

The auction of their team bus only added to their woes, forcing the club's management to scramble for alternative transportation options for their players to and from training and matches.

This unexpected turn of events had left the club's passionate fan base in dismay, as the club had remained tight-lipped about the incident until now.

The unexpected sale of the bus bearing registration number KBP 040V, took place in March, conducted by Charlton Auctioneers, and was advertised in the media as being sold on an "as is where is" basis.

The lack of official communication from the club had left fans speculating about the fate of the bus and the financial implications for the club.

Rachier also issued a warning to potential future actions against the club's assets after revealing that the club has received a new bus from ICT CS Eliud Owalo.

"We have ensured that this one [new bus] you will not be able to reach it. Don't waste your time as a lawyer, and my deputy is a lawyer. So don't try it," he said.

However, amidst the financial challenges and uncertainties, Gor Mahia received a glimmer of hope on Tuesday when they were gifted the new team bus by Owalo.

The 42-seater state-of-the-art bus, adorned in the team's colors and logos, is destined for the team's official use.

CS Owalo's generosity and unwavering loyalty to Gor Mahia have been evident as he has consistently invested millions in the club, even extending his support to staff and fans through allowances and bonuses.

This new bus comes as a timely boost for the club, providing a renewed sense of optimism and stability. With a dedicated sponsor like CS Owalo on their side, Gor Mahia can look forward to a brighter future, both on and off the pitch.
