Gor Mahia coach has given his views on the tricky CAF Champions League draw that sees them potentially facing defending champions Al Ahly along the way.
Gor Mahia coach Leonardo Martins Neiva believes his side stand little chance against Egyptian giants Al Ahly who they will face if they make it past the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
K’Ogalo will face El Merreikh FC Bentiu of South Sudan in the first preliminary round and if they overcome their opponents, defending champions Al Ahly await in the second round.
That is giving Neiva a headache given the quality and pedigree of the Egyptian giants but he hopes his young squad can get some top matches for exposure before then.

Gor Mahia's path in CAF Champions League revealed as defending champions Al Ahly await in round two
Kenyan representatives at the CAF Champions League received a relatively fair draw, facing a manageable opponent in the preliminary round.
“I hope we can cross over and then we are going to face Al Ahly of Egypt, a giant of African football and they are the favourites,” Neiva said in Dar es Salaam, where K’Ogalo are participating in the Kagame Cup.
“At Gor Mahia, it is three years since we played an international competition like CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup and that is why it is very important to expose our players especially the young squad that we have for the better level of continent football.”
The Brazilian tactician feels the Kagame Cup is one of the competitions that will provide some of the exposure and he has a good opportunity to watch El Merreikh FC Bentiu first hand as they are participating in the competition in Tanzania.
