FOOTBALL Kenya U18 star tracked by Real Madrid opens up on hopes of playing for rivals Barcelona
Kibet, who has reportedly been tracked by Real Madrid since joining Spain's Nastic Soccer Academy, has revealed his dream is to play for Barcelona.
“Some of these guys were in Ukunda last week and it is not easy. They travel all over the country,” said McKinstry.
“It is not cheap to come and watch games, you have to spend your transport, feed yourself for the day, and buy your ticket to come into the game and all this merchandise these guys buy. We really respect that loyal dedication, that obsession because Gor Mahia is a family.
“The last picture the guys see on the pre-match team meeting is always a picture of the anthem being sung where you could see both the players and the fans because what we say to the players is, this is all of us together and if we give energy on the field, the fans will give energy from the stands and then it just builds.
“Both of us working together, we have had some games like that in the past where we have got the energy from the players and the fans and I do not think there is any team in East Africa that can stop that sort of juggernaut.”
