FKF Premier League (FKFPL) defending champions Gor Mahia are gearing up for the January transfer market, targeting key reinforcements to strengthen their squad as they bid to defend their title.
Currently fourth on the league table with 24 points, K’Ogalo trail league leaders Tusker FC by nine points following a recent 2-1 defeat to the Brewers.
The 21-time record champions have identified several positions in need of bolstering, with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Raymond Oruo outlining their priorities.

Tusker coach Charles Okere reveals problematic areas to be worked on ahead of clash with Ulinzi Stars as title fight enters homestretch.
“We will be looking at doing some business this coming transfer window,” said Oruo as per Citizen Digital.
“We are particularly looking to strengthen striking positions, so we are targeting an out-and-out striker, a cover goalkeeper because we have realized there is some weakness there, and there is a need to look at the right-back position.”
In their bid to bolster the squad further, Gor Mahia recently extended the contracts of captain Philemon Otieno and long-serving midfielder Ernest Wendo, who were set to depart after their contracts expired in December. Both players received six-month extensions, ensuring their continued presence in the team.

Gor Mahia interim coach is aiming to have a record number of players represent the national side during the 2024 CHAN tournament.
In addition, the club has brought back former defender Dennis Ng'ang'a for a second stint. Ng'ang'a is currently training with the team as the club evaluates his suitability to provide cover in central defense.
“We have Dennis Ng’ang’a training with the team, and we’re assessing his ability to cover the central back position,” Oruo confirmed.
“If possible, we’d also like to get a natural winger, though that is not a priority. At the moment, we’re focused on about four or five positions: a striker, a goalkeeper, a right back, and potentially a central back.”
