Gor Mahia are yet to lose a single game this season but face a tough test against FC Talanta while Tusker will be hoping to keep their season revival alive with a good result against Nzoia Sugar.
Gor Mahia will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten status in the FKfPL this season when they face a difficult FC Talanta at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Sunday afternoon.
The league leaders have amassed 28 points after 14 league games, losing no game this season, which has put them on track to replicate their unbeaten 2015 season when they lifted the league title without tasting defeat.
They will however be facing a tough Talanta assignment given how proficient the Ken Kenyatta-coached outfit have been in front of goal this season.
Talanta are placed ninth in the league this season on 20 points, winning four, drawing eight, and losing two of their 14 fixtures, with Gor Mahia winning seven and drawing the other seven.
The side, which was promoted to the Premier League in 2021, has established itself as a topflight club after an initial two year period of trying to adapt using players plucked from the lower divisions.
They have netted 16 goals this season, but have found it quite a challenge to keep the ball out of the net, having conceded 13 times despite the fact Kenyatta’s teams are known to be defensively resolute.
Gor Mahia by contrast, have found it difficult to string wins on the road in recent times. They have drawn three of their last five fixtures, with the two wins being registered by narrow one-goal margins.
K’ogalo have been dealt a huge blow as talented winger Rodgers Mugisha, who has been at the heart of every good thing going for them as a winger since joining the club back in August, is set to depart for Denmark in January.
They will be hoping he can produce a solid performance for them in his penultimate game for the club before he leaves.

FOOTBALL Benson Omala puts FC Talanta on notice as Gor Mahia seek to maintain unbeaten run
Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala is out to bring FC Talanta down as K’Ogalo eye victory to maintain top spot and their unbeaten league run
Still in Western Kenya, Tusker will be hoping they can maintain their winning ways when they face Nzoia Sugar at the Sudi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tusker have endured a rocky start to the season and find themselves in 11th place this season, while Nzoia Sugar have had to endure a massive transition phase using very young players.
Tusker have looked vulnerable defensively, and their forwards have also been feeding off scraps for much of the season, and it was a huge sigh of relief when Erick Kapaito ended his goal drought on Wednesday, scoring twice and providing another assist to give them a 3-0 win.
The Brewers will be well aware that a win will put them closer back to the top considering they sit a whole nine points behind league leaders Gor Mahia.
