Omala has made a telling revelation about his future with Gor Mahia ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with Sudan's El Merreikh.

Gor Mahia’s Benson Omala has made a startling stance on his future at the club as the side prepares for their 2024/2025 Champions League campaign against Sudan’s El Merreikh.

While Omala is committed to helping Gor Mahia defend their league title and make a mark in the CAF Champions League, he remains pragmatic about his future.

Earlier this year, a move to Algerian side JS Soura was on the cards but ultimately fell through. This has left Omala open to considering other offers, should they meet both his and the club’s expectations.

“If anything tangible comes on the table and my club agrees with whoever is keen on my services, then why not?” Omala told SportsBoom.com.

“I will move. But for now, it is all about Gor Mahia. I want to achieve a lot of success with this great club and win as many titles as possible,” Omala stated.

Having netted 19 goals last season, Omala clinched the FKF Premier League Golden Boot, a title he narrowly missed the previous year despite an impressive 26-goal haul.

His experience of missing out on the 2022–23 Golden Boot to Kenya Police FC's Elvis Rupia, who scored just one goal more, has left a lingering sting. This drives Omala’s ambition to achieve even greater success this season.

“Aiming for 25 goals next season is not a difficult task. I know I will achieve my target,” Omala confidently stated. His goal is not merely a personal benchmark but also a stepping stone to elevate Gor Mahia's status both domestically and on the continental stage.

As the new season approaches, Omala is prepared for the challenges ahead. With key strikers like Tito Okello, John Makwata, and Erick Kapaito having left the Kenyan league, he acknowledges the importance of strong competition to push him to his limits.

“If I get good opposition players to push me, why not? I will score 25 goals or even more. Tough competition keeps you going and makes you strive to do better,” Omala noted, emphasizing the role of staying injury-free as a key factor in achieving his target.
