Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on midfielder Bernardo Silva after his brilliant display against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg, labelling him as “one of the best ever” to come under his tutelage in his storied career.

Guardiola has coached the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, and Sergio Busquets at Barcelona as well players like Phillip Lahm, Manuel Neuer, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, but the Cityzen’s boss believes that Bernardo deserves a mention alongside that calibre of players.

Despite Guardiola's high praise, Bernardo might still be leaving the Eithad at the end of the season, with Spanish giants Barcelona keen on signing the wantaway midfielder.
