Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued a stern warning to his players regarding their social media activity, emphasizing the importance of discretion in the wake of recent burglaries targeting football stars.

Guardiola's cautionary advice comes after a terrifying incident at Jack Grealish's new mansion, where burglars frightened his family.

Grealish's Mansion Raid: A Wake-Up Call

Jack Grealish's partner, Sasha Attwood, and several family members experienced a harrowing ordeal at his £5.6million Cheshire home.

Despite the property's extensive security measures, burglars managed to flee with £1million worth of watches and gems. This incident occurred while Grealish was playing an away match at Everton.

Guardiola highlighted the risks associated with sharing too much information online. He advised, as reported by the Sun, "Not so much on social media — the less they know what you are doing the better. People are waiting. Waiting to see where you are.”

This statement underscores the need for heightened awareness and privacy among high-profile athletes.

Guardiola's Call for Caution

In light of these events, Guardiola has urged his players to be more vigilant and discreet, especially on social platforms. Reflecting on the broader implications of such incidents, he remarked, “It is what it is today in the modern world. Yes, it was a bad moment for him and his family but, fortunately, the family was not hurt.”

The City boss also recalled the 2021 incident involving Joao Cancelo, who confronted burglars at his home. He expressed concern over the increasing number of break-ins affecting footballers, not just in Manchester but in other regions as well.

Guardiola's message is clear: the safety and security of players and their families are paramount, and caution in the digital age is essential.

In response to these incidents, police investigations are ongoing, and there is a concerted effort to enhance security measures for players. The football community stands in solidarity, recognizing the need for collective action to safeguard against such threats.
