Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich's utility star ahead of next season.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly lining up a move for Bayern Munich's versatile star Joshua Kimmich.

After winning just one trophy last season, the City boss is aiming to increase the quality in his squad and has identified a potential high-level target.

Kimmich to reunite with Guardiola at Manchester City?

Kimmich, 29, was openly critical of teammates as they lost the Bundesliga title to Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen.

He is also reportedly unsettled at the Allianz Arena.

The Germany international has just one year left on his contract, a situation that could make a transfer to Manchester City a bit easier to complete.

However, according to Sport Bible, Guardiola will have to break his own transfer rule to complete the signing.

The Catalan reportedly avoids signing players he’s worked with at a previous club.

Meanwhile, City are also leading the race to sign Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimares, and hope to conclude a deal in the coming weeks.
