Guinness Uganda is thrilled to announce the launch of "Guinness Match Day," a series of events designed to bring the excitement of football closer to fans nationwide.

This initiative follows Guinness' recent partnership with the English Premier League (EPL), where the iconic beer brand was named the official beer sponsor in June.

This four-year agreement, beginning with the 2024/25 season, promises to enhance the football viewing experience with watch parties and events in bars, pubs, and entertainment outlets globally.

In Uganda, "Guinness Match Day" will officially launch in Kampala this Saturday, August 17, at the Garden City rooftop, starting at 2 p.m., coinciding with the start of the new EPL season.

Football fans and enthusiasts will not only have the opportunity to watch their favorite EPL teams in action but also participate in various fun activities curated by the brand throughout the day.

Fans can look forward to expert match commentary, analysis from some of Uganda’s top football pundits, and thrilling “predict and win” games with rewards like customized merchandise and more.

Speaking about the campaign, Elizabeth Mutamuliza, Brand Manager of Guinness Uganda, emphasized the brand's commitment to fostering community through football.

"Guinness has always been about bringing people together, and football is the perfect medium for this," she said.

"The EPL has a unique ability to unite people from different cultures and backgrounds, which aligns perfectly with our brand’s values."

"We are incredibly excited about this initiative. We’re not stopping in Kampala; we will be taking the Guinness Match Day experience across the country."

"Prepare for the ultimate viewing experiences, expert commentary, and unforgettable football moments."

"Join us as we celebrate the beautiful game with the launch of 'Guinness Match Day' and experience football like never before!" Mutamuliza added.

Guinness has long been a supporter of football in Uganda. The brand sponsors the Old Boys Leagues of several traditional schools, promoting camaraderie, networking, and community spirit.

Additionally, Guinness champions inclusivity by collaborating with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to celebrate and support women who are making strides in the male-dominated sport.

Away from the big regional events, Guinness will bring the Match Day experience even closer to fans with activations in bars where most fans watch EPL games across the country.

There will be lots of prizes to win during these activations, including Guinness customized merchandise, drinks, and more.

Access to the launch event is open to all football fans across the country.
