Hansi Flick begs Barcelona to sign surprising Man United ace to solve squad problems

Barcelona's coach Hansi Flick threw the name of a Manchester United star in the hat as their search for a new forward advances.

Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly named Manchester United’s winger Marcus Rashford a desired option for the left-wing role.

The Blaugrana are in the market for a right winger and had identified Athletic Club’s Nico Williams as their primary summer transfer target. However, the 22-year-old is set to continue at his boyhood club, forcing Barcelona to return to the market and cast a wider net.

Barcelona linked to Rashford

While sporting director Deco has the veto on transfers, Flick's input is valued. According to a report from Gol's Albert Fernandez, the German manager has provided the club with a list of left-wingers.

The report confirmed one name on the list: Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Flick is believed to value Rashford's dribbling and goal-scoring abilities and is keen to have his talents at his disposal.

The England international recently signed a contract extension with the club, which lasts until 2028. This means Barcelona, who are struggling with their finances, have to make a significant outlay to prise him away from Old Trafford. Given his status at the club, however, it is unlikely the Red Devils will make it easy should Barcelona approach.

Barcelona's other targets

While Manchester United might not be amiable to a possible Barcelona approach for Rashford, a club that would be keen to see their winger linked with the Blaugrana leave is Juventus.

Pulse Sports reported that Chiesa’s agent has offered him to Barcelona, and Juventus, who have transfer-listed the player, are open to listening to offers. His status also makes it unlikely that The Old Lady will demand a significant amount for the forward.
