Harambee Starlets forward Janet Moraa Bundi hit the ground running for her new club Yanga Princesses, scoring a brace as the Tanzanian outfit walloped Amani Queens 6-1 in a Serengeti Women’s Premier League clash that took place on Wednesday.

Moraa, who only joined the club last week, did not need much introduction, as she scored two goals to help keep Princesses top of the league after matchday two.

Precious Christopher opened the scoring when she tore through the Queens defence at pace and then slotted the ball home with a bullet left footed attempt.

In the seventh minute, they went two goals up from the penalty spot through Christopher again, before Madina Traole made it three in the 12th minute to send Yanga away and cruising.

Amani Queens drew one back in the 26th minute through Janeth Cletus Nyangali but in the 41st minute, Moraa would net what was her maiden goal for Yanga when she got on the end of a long ball over the top before sprinting quickly to get on the end of it, rounding the keeper and then slotting the ball home.

Noela Luhala made it five in the 75th minute, before Moraa’s second goal in the 79th minute, an instinctive pounce of a defensive mistake became the icing on the cake to give them all the three points.

Moraa’s departure from Vihiga Queens was a significant blow for the Kenyan giants  as she had been in superb form this season, playing a pivotal role in their bid to retain the FKF Women's Premier League title.

Her contributions were instrumental in securing the 2021 CECAFA Title, a historic achievement that qualified the team for their first-ever CAF Women's Champions League appearance.

The 27-year-old striker originally joined Vihiga Queens from Eldoret Falcons, showcasing her talent and versatility on the pitch throughout her tenure with the club.

She had also previously played for Nyamira Starlets, leaving an indelible mark on the local football scene.
