Engin Firat’s men left Nairobi early Sunday morning and arrived in Lilongwe over two hours later to continue their preparations for the crucial matches which will see them face Burundi before a clash with Ivory Coast on June 11.
Kenya will be the host nation in both matches but will not enjoy home comforts due to the lack of an approved stadium in the country with the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe the venue for the two ties.

Harambee Stars fans are on the lookout for busses to ferry them to Malawi for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers but it will be a tedious trip for all involved.
Early arrival in Malawi will allow Firat’s men to acclimatise while getting a feel of the match venue even though they are not new to the country and stadium as they played there twice during the Four Nations tournament in March.
Firat named a formidable squad that includes youthful and experienced players, led by captain Michael Olunga, although there are concerns over the fitness of defenders Joseph Okumu and Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma who are both returning from injuries.
Ouma joined the team’s camp in Nairobi before the team departed while Okumu, Daniel Anyembe, Timothy Noor Ouma, Collins Sichenje and Ian Otieno are set to link up with the team in Malawi.

Bristol City star Zak Vyner was among those included in the final 25-man Harambee Stars squad set to travel to Malawi on Sunday for their matches against Ivory Coast and Burundi.
Other notable inclusions include new call-up Tobias Knost and the returning midfield duo of Duke Abuya and Austin Odhiambo who had been overlooked in previous assignments.
