Bayern Munich 4-2 Heidenheim: 11-game record smashed by Harry Kane with latest double
Harry Kane has now scored two braces in his last two matches, with the latest against Heidenheim in a six-goal thriller.
Kane’s Goalscoring Surge
The 30-year-old has looked unstoppable and exceptional following his move to Bavaria from Tottenham in the summer.
Kane has propelled himself to the top of the chart with his consistency in front of goal for German champions Bayern.
He netted a historic brace in the 4-2 win against Heidenheim, his two brace in as many matches to take his tally to seven goals in the last three matches across competition.
Kane, who has scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga in 11 matches, the most by any player in his first 11 matches in the league’s history, has now scored a total of 47 goals for club and country in 2023.
This has fired him to the top of the scorers’ chart, with Haaland and Ronaldo trailing.
Surpassing Ronaldo and Haaland
Al Nassr’s Ronaldo, a living legend of the game, continues to be associated with goalscoring excellence despite playing in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
For his club and country in 2023, the 38-year-old has netted an incredible 45 goals, which puts him third on the list at the moment, just a goal behind Manchester City superstar, Haaland.
Paris Saint-Germain’s World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe, is also not far away from the trio.
Mbappe netted a hattrick against Reims to move within four goals of Kane for the year.
With just a few goals separating the players and a few more weeks left in the year, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the top scorer come the end of the year.
