Former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin has suggested the best partner for Victor Osimhen after Marco Icardi’s injury.

Osimhen and Icardi have connected well for Galatasaray since the arrival of the Super Eagles star.

Both players have scored a combined goal of 10 in just seven league games, as Galatasaray leads the league table.

However, due to the recent injury of Icardi, which will see him out of the season, Osimhen has been left without a partner.

Speaking on Assist Analysis Youtube channel via Haber Sari Kirmizi, Engin, has said Michy Batshuayi can not partner Osimhen in attack.

He explained, "Victor Osimhen is the only one left in Galatasaray after Mauro Icardi, he can't get along with Michy Batshuayi. Mauro Icardi was the right partner for Osimhen. Icardi knows how to play.

“They are good chances for each other. Now, to bring the ball to Osimhen, you will either put Mertens next to Osimhen or make the midfield crowded. Okan Buruk's bench is not very rich either. 2-3 players left, it is down to 15-16 players."

Since the Super Eagles star arrived, Okan Buruk has liked to play with two strikers, settling on him and Mauro Icardi as his first-choice attackers.

However, following Icardi’s long-term injury, the manager has tried different partnerships with Osimhen.

Batshuayi and Osimhen were paired against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League fixture, with the Nigerian coming to the rescue with the equaliser.

In Sunday's Süper Lig match against Eyüpspor at RAMS Park, it is unclear if Buruk will stick to his mid-week attack of Osimhen and Batshuayi.
