Yoro on his move to Man United
The 18-year-old Yoro told internal club media that Ferdinand had already started taking a more direct approach after receiving a greeting on social media from the former England player.
The defender revealed that he had a helping hand from legendary defender Rio Ferdinand in getting the transfer deal done.
According to BBC, Yoro said, "Two weeks ago, he called me. We spoke for 10 minutes about Man United, so he helped me a lot to make my choice. He mainly spoke about the club and what it's like.
“That this is a historic club with a big story, and if I go there I need to fight for the club, to be ready, because this is the biggest club in the world. It was really good to speak about this."
In the Murrayfield preseason game against Scottish side Rangers, Yoro made an impression on his debut.
Yoro continued, "The football of today, you need to read the game. You need to understand the opponent and I try really to be focused on that. After that, I'm really comfortable with the ball. You know, I'm not afraid to play."
The French defender will be looking forward to his first Premier League game for Manchester United when they face Fulham in the opening game of the season.
