The Dunfermline Athletic noted that the red card hurt Victor Wanyama as he backed the former CF Montreal star to bounce back to winning ways once his suspension ends.
Victor Wanyama’s teammate Joe Chalmers is still optimistic that the former Harambee Stars captain will be the one to save Dunfermline Athletic from their misery despite a shaky debut that saw him exit the pitch devastated.
Victor Wanyama signed with the club last week and made his debut on Saturday, as they were playing against Ayr but was unfortunately red-carded for a handball just less than 20 minutes on the pitch.
The Dunfermline skipper added that Victor Wanyama was hurt by the red card and it is evident that he would want to prove a point the next time he steps on the pitch.

"Getting to train with someone like him is important. You want to do well, and you want to impress him. Just by having him around is going to be a big thing for the squad in the games coming up.”
Victor Wanyama will not play in Dunfermline Athletic’s next match against Livingston but Chalmers noted that his presence will mean a lot to the players.
Dunfermline Athletic are fighting relegation, ranked ninth in a 10-league table with 27 points. Manager Neil Lennon has his work cut out as he aims to make an impact with the club after taking over a week ago.
