‘We all are in the same situation’ - Maresca compares Chelsea’s start to Guardiola and Arteta’s journey
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has compared his start with the Blues to that of Pep Guardiola when he started at Barcelona and Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
Guardiola responds to Mourinho’s comparison
In response to Jose Mourinho's comments, Pep Guardiola motioned that he had won six Premier League titles during the 2-0 loss at Anfield.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Guardiola said, “Jose Mourinho famously did this, meaning he had won three Premier League ones.
“I don't even remember that three premierships and I won more premierships alone than the other 19 managers together. Three for me and for them respect, respect, respect, respect.
“People are comparing the way in which you responded to Jose that day, which some people think was the beginning of the end for Jose United. I hope not. In my case. At the end, we work quite similarly to Jose back here.
Manchester City were defeated 2-0 at Anfield against Liverpool, making it their fourth loss of the season.
The result made the Citizens drop to fifth place in the league table and 11 points off the league leaders Liverpool.
However, they will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Nottingham Forest to the Etihad Stadium.
