The Harambee Stars defender missed the decisive penalty to knock Stade Reims out of the Coupe de France
It was agony for Joseph Okumu as he missed Reims’ fifth and final penalty to crash the Ligue 1 outfit out of the Coupe de France against Socheaux and dash their hopes of bagging some silverware this season.
Okumu did have a solid outing during regulation time but after both sides drew 2-2, the game would have to be decided on penalties.
The Kenyan defender got to net the decisive penalty but missed to dash Reims’ chances of winning 1.5 million Euros (Ksh 261 million) cash price and a chance to qualify for next season’s UEFA Europa League through the cup.

Reims scored the first goal in the sixth minute from a corner kick which was won after good combination play between Mohamed Daramy and Thibault De Smet ended up in the latter hitting a ball that was deflected wide.
From the resulting corner, Daramy found Emmanuel Agbadou who headed the ball into the back of the net.
The Red and White were unable to hold on to their lead as in the 21st minute, Socheaux would equalize through Diego Michel after being set up well by Noah Fatar with a deft cross.
