There were some interesting results on Saturday afternoon as the Nile Special Rugby Sevens Tooro Leg successfully completed day one.

Table leaders Stanbic Black Pirates made light work of their opponents beating Buddu Rangers 43-0, Walukuba Barbarians 31-7, and Buffaloes 14-7 to register 100 percent record.

Defending champions Jinja Hippos laboured to beat Warriors 14-5 then rolled over Mbarara Titans 38-0 but suffered a setback losing to 10-5 to Mongers in their last Group D match.

The biggest shock of the day saw record champions Heathens fail to qualify for the Main Cup quarterfinals relegating their status to the challenger where they'll face Titans.

The Heathens had powered to a 55-0 victory over Kigezi Silverbacks but were stunned to a 21-20 and 17-10 losses to Impis and Rhinos.

Holders Hippos will start the Sunday schedule against Impis before Mongers face Rhinos.

The biggest match up so far will come in the third match where Kobs will go head-to-head against Pirates as they aim to slow down the Sea Robbers.
