I don't want to play anymore — Pogba opens up on how the alleged extortion from his brother affected him
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba revealed that he contemplated retiring during the alleged extortion saga with his brother.
However, a running trope in the later part of his illustrious career, which he has been heavily criticised for, is his constant berating of Paul Pogba.
What Souness said
Souness was asked what he thought of the midfielder’s career, and he replied, saying that he has not lived up to expectations.
He believes that Pogba is supremely talented and should be seen as one of the best in the world; however, Souness claims this is not the reality because the France international is lazy.
"He’s an extremely talented young man. He should be one of the best midfield players in the world, but he’s lazy,” Souness said on the Second Captains podcast, per Goal.
"If you remember how he used to take penalties, That was him wanting to be the star of the show for that period of time. If he’s lazy in matches, he’ll be lazy in training, and how can you get after the rest of them if you don’t get after him."
When asked if he thought his criticism was harsh, Souness replied saying: "Not for a nanosecond, no, he’s a lazy tw*t."
Meanwhile, Pogba has more serious issues to worry about than Souness’s opinion of him, as he is currently waiting on the result of a test to be conducted on the B Sample of his body fluid after the A Sample tested positive for “Testosterone metabolites of non-endogenous origin.”
