Uganda Hippos head coach Jackson Mayanja has decried the poor state of most training pitches available for the U-20, the Uganda Hippos to train from.

Speaking to Pulse Sport after Tuesday's training session at MUBS Nakawa, Mayanja stressed that the lack of a quality grass pitch for training has hindered the team's preparations in a way.

"Everyone in camp is ok apart from those that haven't joined us like Ivan Irambabazi and Ibrahim Juma," Mayanja after the Monday morning training session in Nakawa.

"But we have a challenge of a quality training pitch because we're looking for a grass pitch which can help the players to train well in a good condition," he added.

The Hippos first camped in Njeru at the FUFA Technical centre before using the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo and now the MUBS arena in Nakawa.

The Uganda Hippos are preparing for the AFCON U-20 set to take place in Egypt from 19th February.
