Arteta, a player during the Wenger era, has reached 100 victories for Arsenal faster than his former coach.

Arsene Wenger is unarguably Arsenal's most outstanding manager ever in whichever aspect; achievements or longevity.

But the current boss Mikel Arteta is giving the Gunners, who had lost hope, a reason to believe again.

Under the stewardship of the Spaniard, the North London side is enjoying a brilliant season in a long time.

Arteta, a player during the Wenger era, has reached 100 victories for Arsenal faster than his former coach.

A 3-0 victory away to Fulham on Sunday was the 40-year-old tactician's 100th win in the 167 games he has been in charge at the Emirates.

It took the Frenchman Wenger 179 outings to reach 100 victories for Arsenal.

"It is the 100th victory, and hopefully, there will be many more," Arteta said in the game's aftermath before adding.

"It is special to earn those wins with a team that you feel follows us in everything we try to do."

Arteta added: "You feel that you can identify with it, and that is the most important thing for me."

First-half goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Odegaard at Craven Cottage restored Arsenal's five-point lead at the top of the 20-team English Premier League log.

After 27 games, Arteta's coached side has gathered 66 points, five more than Manchester City, who are positioned second.
