Senkatuka, who hit the mark on Friday when he scored in Bright Stars' 2-2 draw away to BUL FC at the Njeru Technical Centre, told Pulse Sports that it had been a long time coming.

Uganda Cranes and Soltilo Bright Stars forward Nelson Senkatuka reached the 50-career goal milestone across all competitions for his club.

Senkatuka, who hit the mark on Friday when he scored in Bright Stars' 2-2 draw away to BUL FC at the Njeru Technical Centre, told Pulse Sports that it had been a long time coming.

"It has taken longer than It should have because after I scored the 49th, I went five games without scoring, but I am glad that I finally made it.”

"It's a great feeling to be the all-time leading scorer at a club like Bright Stars,” Senkatuka added.

The former Athlétic de Tétouan Sports Club forward also stressed that his target now is to reach the 50-goal mark in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. A record he is only four goals shy from.

"The 50 goals are across all competitions; I have scored 46 in the league, so I also want to reach the 50 league goals milestone; that would also be a great achievement."

Nelson Senkatuka has had two stints at Soltilo Bright Stars, with the first between 2017 and 2019 when he joined the side from Proline FC.

He then left for Moroccan side Athlétic de Tétouan Sports Club but failed to nail a starting berth before returning to re-sign with Bright Stars in 2021.

The former KCCA FC forward also won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in 2015 with the Uganda Cranes in Ethiopia.
