Ex-Barcelona star Luis Suarez has revealed how he tried to convince Neymar to remain at Camp Nou and turn down a move to PSG in 2017.
Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi tried to convince Neymar to remain at Barcelona in 2017, promising him a great opportunity to win the Ballon d'Or, according to the Uruguayan legend.
Messi, Suarez, and Neymar formed the deadliest trio in football history, known as MSN, and won multiple trophies together including the Uefa Champions League in 2015.
Neymar eventually left to join PSG but failed to make any real impact, reaching one Champions League final before being sold to Saudi side Al Hilal.
How Suarez and Messi begged Neymar to stay at Barcelona
Suarez, now with Gremio, spoke about Neymar's 2017 departure from Barcelona.
"Myself and Messi told Neymar, if you want to win it all you have to stay here with us.
"I told him, 'You should go to England with Manchester City if you really have to leave but not France.
"I believe if Neymar had stayed with us at Barcelona, he would have won the Ballon d'Or."
