A look into Mbappe's new contract
Kylian Mbappe has finally signed for Real Madrid in a long awaited move that has been expected for over 2 years now.
This comes just two days after Los Blancos completed their double after defeating Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on Saturday.
They have now extended their tally to 15 titles, the most ever in the history of the competition. After a fairy tale ending to Kroos’ career, Madrid already had a plan to strengthen their team despite the veteran’s departure.
The stars aligned for Madrid as the 25 year old had declined to activate a one year extension in his PSG contract that would make him leave the French side around mid next year.
His decision made it possible for him to move to Madrid for free. An absolute bargain for Madrid considering the benefits they will get after Mbappe’s arrival.
Mbappe’s new 5 year contract with Madrid will see him earn 12M pounds (KSH 2,133,351,360 ) per year. He will also reveice a signing-on bonus of just over 85M pounds (KSH 14,166,786,375). This will be paid to him in installments over the duration of his contract.
Mbappe cost PSG 166M pounds (KSH 27,666,900,450 ) when they signed him from Monaco. His departure means that he has alleviated PSG off KSH 31,250,264,062 that would be paid to him in wages if he stayed until the end of his contract.
Mbappe has expressed his joy and satisfaction saying that the move is a dream come true and that he is excited to join the club of his dreams
Mbappe is now a Galactico and will join the likes of Vinicius in attack alongside Jude Bellingham and Rodrigo. A team that is cooking up to dominate European football for many years to come.
