A former Premier League player has commented on Chelsea's current striker situation, endorsing Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
Chelsea are looking for a top-tier striker and have made a move for Napoli star Osimhen and Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
However, it is likely that the deal will not materialise due to failed salary negotiations between both parties.
Chelsea are still keeping an eye on Victor Osimhen, who is rumoured to be eager to leave Napoli, but are now focused on Toney.

Troy urges Chelsea to sign Osimhen
Troy Deeney discussed his opinions on the subject in an interview with Sky Sports News, despite having a strong friendship with Toney.
He said, “I have always got to look after my boy (Ivan Toney), ain’t I? I was going to say Ivan, but for the way Chelsea are playing, personally, I am not a big Nicolas Jackson fan. I think he does a lot of running, but they don’t need that.”
Deeney went on to discuss his admiration for Osimhen by drawing comparisons between him and Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
Deeney continued, “They need someone who is a bit like Haaland, looks after it, let the other guys run.
“Osimhen has the running and he has got the ability, and the aura of I am going to score, I am the big man, give me the ball.
“So if you ask me non-biased, all cards on the table, I would have to say Osimhen over Ivan.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen's move to Chelsea is still on, with Napoli expecting a formal bid from the Blues.
The next few days will be critical for Chelsea's transfer strategy as they consider their alternatives and possibly make a last-ditch effort to sign a top-tier striker since time is running out.
