Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has apologised to one of his players for the treatment he received this season.
Guardiola has tendered an apology to midfielder Kalvin Phillips for the way he has ignored him in team selections this season.
Despite being tipped for an improved role this season, Phillips has seen limited action with just four appearances in the Premier League, none of which were starts.
The England international is now the subject of transfer rumors, with potential links to Juventus and Liverpool surfacing in recent days.
Guardiola apologises to Kalvin Phillips
“I don’t know. I feel so sorry for my decisions on him. I am so sorry for the minutes I haven’t given him," Guardiola said
"He doesn't deserve what has happened to him and I'm so sorry.
“It’s just because I visualise something, where I struggle to see him in the team but I do care about him"
Phillips has been heavily linked with a move away in the January window, with Juventus reportedly keen.
